The FDA, or the Food and Drug Administration, was created to regulate certain aspects of food and pharmaceuticals. In order for a product to be sold in the United States, it must have been approved by the FDA. The primary role of this agency is to protect public health. They accomplish this by approving or denying a product that is to be sold in the United States.
